Two people including Swedish Diplomat perish in Magamaga accident

Police are investigating the cause of an accident that led to the death of two people including a Swedish Diplomat.

The incident happened on Sunday13th March 2022 at about 1300hr at Magamaga Weighbridge, along Jinja Iganga road in Mayuge District.

The deceased Lindberg Labasauskas Urlika was in a car reg no CD06-15U Toyota land cruiser blue, which was being driven by her husband Labasauskas Egidijus.

Unfortunately, their vehicle collided head to the side with m/v reg.no UAG303P Fuso fighter white in colour, that was being driven by one Ntuuyo Alex resident of Busanda village in Kamuli district.

James Mubi the Kiira regional police spokesperson says Lindberg was killed instantly, while another passenger identified as Higaye Richard Dickson a resident of Kyabirwa village Ivunamba parish in Jinja district died on the way to Jinja hospital.

The two drivers were injured and were rushed to Jinja hospital before being transferred to Nile hospital Kampala, while the bodies were conveyed to Jinja hospital mortuary pending Postmortem.

Both vehicles were towed to Magamaga police station pending inspection.
