Senior Police Officer arrested for defiling a 14-year-old girl in Amolatar District

Officers at Amolatar Police station have arrested their own boss and senior citizen over the defilement of a 14-year-old girl. The suspect is ASP Maxman Okello Ochan who is clocking 60 years of age and soon retiring.

He made history by being booked at his own station for the capital offense of allegedly defiling a 14-year-old girl. Okello was caught by locals from Amirimiri ward where they allegedly nabbed him defiling the child.

According to George William Wopuwa Amolatar the new Resident District Commissioner, he ordered for the OC’s arrest after four people stormed his office complaining over not being helped even after they caught the officer red-handed defiling the child.

Jacob Chepsikor that Amolatar Divisional Police Commander -DPC says he got a directive from the head of security in the district (RDC) to investigate the OC over alleged defilement.

They arrested the suspect after the victim confirmed while facing the accused officer, who could not utter a word to defend himself regarding the girl’s accusation.

According to the victim, she was tricked into meeting the officer by a Boda Boda man whom she knew. The rider took her together with her elder sister to a house in which the officer was already waiting for her with a condom in his hands. She says her sister was chased away before she could enter the house.

“My mother had sent us to go and buy food and that is how we met Obura Oscar who told me Afande had asked to see me but I did not even know who Afande is. I tried refusing but Obua insisted and we agreed to come with him to the house where the Afande was. He gave me a CD to open but I refused and he opened it himself and “slept” with me then he got out to take the CD to the latrine and found people including my brother hiding behind the latrine and they picked him and called the chairman who immediately wrote for us a letter to report to police” the victim narrated.

The suspect will have to face the law to defend himself.
