Self-proclaimed Prophet, his wife arrested for murder of 4-year-old child in Jinja

Police have arrested one Prophet Joseph Sserubili and his wife Felista Namaganda over the kidnap and murder of a 4-year-old child.

CP Fred Enanga the police spokesperson identified the child as Trinity Nabilye who was kidnapped by the suspects on 30th September 2021. Nabilye was a daughter to the landlord John Mulodi of Kakira Market in Kakira Town Council in Jinja district.

Enanga told a media briefing at Naguru this morning, that the suspects had rented the garage from Mulodi’s home and turned it into a Church called deliverance and healing Ministries.

However, Sserubili kidnapped the child and disappeared on 30th September. Police had been tracking him until last week when he was arrested together with his wife.

Upon interrogation, the duo admitted to having murdered the 4-year-old child in the same garage in search for spiritual prowess in order to grow their Church ministry.

According to Enanga, the suspects told police that they slit the victim’s throat and chopped off her head which they buried near the lake at Wanyange, while the headless body was buried in one of the sugarcane plantations in Kakira.

Police have since recovered the child’s remains and submitted them for DNA. They also recovered exhibits including blood-stained trousers belonging to Sserubili, and blood samples from the garage.
