Security Guards in trouble for losing gun in Gulu

Two security guards attached to Corporate Security Group in Gulu are being held by police over alleged theft of a gun.

Emmanuel Ojera and Innocent Okori, residents of Gulu City were arrested on Monday evening following a report that the gun they were deployed with to guard Gulu Medical and Imaging Consultant located along School Road in Pece –Laroo Division, went missing under unclear circumstance.

According to David Mudong Ongom the Aswa River Region Police Spokesperson, the SAR Riffle registration number UG-PSO-56-4000778 code 11788 with five rounds of ammunition allegedly went missing from the guards at around 1:30pm on Monday.

He added that the missing gun was later recovered at around 5:30pm from Te-Tank Sub –Ward, Labourline Parish in Pece –Laroo Division just few meters from the premises being guarded by the duo.

It was recovered by a 35 year -old man identified as Sunday Okello, who told police that  he got concerned after seeing two street children struggling to use the gun by the roadside, prompting him to intervene and handing it over to Police at Gulu Central Police Station.

The two security guards and Okello were all arrested and are currently detained at Gulu Central Police Station for question.
