Police Officer killed by suspected Karimojong Jie warriors in Kotido

Police in Kotido district are hunting for assailants, suspected to be Karimojong Jie warriors who attacked Lokomebu ASTU detach Located in Nakwamoru village, Kotido Sub-county, along Abim- Kotido Road, and shot a police officer.

The deceased has been identified as No 50388 CPL Atim Hellen who was manning the detach checkpoint.

According to AIP Longole Mike the Ag. PRO Mt Moroto, the officer sustained injuries in both legs and was rushed to kotido hospital where she later died at 4 am due to over bleeding.

The APC was dispatched by ASTU sector commander Kidepo to reinforce the detach but on arrival the warriors had fled the scene of crime.

A team of investigators from Kidepo Region visited the scene together with the ASTU sector commander led by RPC.

This is the second incident of attack on Police establishments in one week, after a detach in Awoyatogo, Abim Zone was attacked and one warrior was put out of action on Wednesday 26/1/2022 last week.
