Teachers wanted for defiling pupils in Hoima District

The Police in Hoima is searching for a man only identified as Leonard a teacher at Yana primary school in Hoima for defiling a 14-year-old girl.

According to CP Fred Enanga the police spokesperson, Leornard found the girl, who is a pupil at the same school, buying groceries at Central market in Hoima and asked to escort him to his home in Kinobi.

While at his home, the suspect convinced the child to spend a night and defiled her the whole night, before letting her leave in the morning.

However, when tasked by the mother to explain where she had spent the night, the victim revealed what had happened.

The suspect is on the run.

Meanwhile,

Police in the same area has arrested Obiga George a teacher at Mother Claudio primary school for defiling an 8-year-old daughter of his neighbor.

Enanga told the weekly press conference at Naguru on Monday, that Obiga found his neighbor Mbabazi Steven’s door open at around 3 am in Bujumbura cell, Eastern Division.

He then proceeded to the girl’s room and defiled her. However, the child made an alarm which woke up his dad who chased and caught the suspect at he attempted to run away.

The matter is being investigated at Hoima CPS.

Enanga cautioned parents and teachers that it is their responsibility to keep the children safe instead of breaking their trust.

Police have sent a team of counselors who are speaking to the 8-year-old who is still traumatized. The team is also engaging with the 14-year-old.
