Police arrest four suspects for killing Mortocyclist in Luwero

Police in Luwero is holding four suspects over alleged involvement in the aggravated robbery and murder of a motorcyclist.

Isah Ssemogerere, the Savannah Region Police Spokesperson identified the suspects as Godfrey Kafuluma, Ibrah Ssesanga, Christopher Ssenyondo, and Sharif Mubiru, all residents of Nansana East zone in Nansana Municipality in Wakiso district.

The suspects are accused of killing Denis Lukyamuzi, a resident of Galuwero zone in Luwero town council. According to Ssemogerere, the suspects and others still at large attacked Lukyamuzi at Kyegombwa village on his way back home around 10 pm on Monday this week.

They hit Lukyamuzi with a hammer on the head and robbed his motorcycle registration number UFL 890D. The deceased was rushed to Mulago National Referral hospital where he succumbed to the injuries on Tuesday.

Police arrested the four suspects after receiving information on their alleged involvement in the robbery and transferred them to Luwero Central Police Station to face murder charges.

The Chairperson of Luweero Town Council Boda Boda Riders Association Robert Ssekyanzi says the deceased hired the motorcycle from a Boda Boda rider at Mukama Afaayo stage but was attacked on his way back home.

This is the fifth motorcycle to be stolen in Luwero in one month. Ssekyanzi wants the police to investigate the people whom the suspects are working with to execute the attacks.
