Nakaseke man murders his two little girls over paternity issues

Residents of Kyangatto Kalagala village in Kasangombe sub-county in Nakaseke district are in shock after a father hacked his two daughters to death following a domestic brawl.

Isah Ssemwogerere, the Savannah Region Police Spokesperson identified the suspect as Dan Mutuba, a Boda Boda rider in Kampala while the deceased children are 5-year-old Diana Namakula and her 8-year-old sibling Daniella Nabukalu.

According to Tom Ssenfuma the Kasangombe sub-county LC V councilor, Mutuba attacked the children at their grandmother Norah Mbekeka’s home at around 9 pm on Monday night and hacked them to death with a machete.

The little girls were sharing a bedroom with two others but Mutuba only targeted the duo.

it is alleged that another 12-year-old girl who was staying at the same home was returning from the kitchen when she saw a man with a torch standing near the house but she couldn’t identify him easily and ran back to notify her elder sister.

On returning inside the house, they found traces of blood from the bedroom only to see the deceased’s lifeless bodies lying on the bed.

The suspect had also stolen a phone from the victim’s grandmother who was bedridden and used it to light before he dumped it in the garden.

Herbert Katamba the deceased’s brother, says that one of the children identified Mutuba and informed the others who alerted their neighbors.

Mutuba has allegedly been issuing deaths threats against the children and their mother following their breakup. The mother had moved on to dating another man following her return from abroad.

Mutuba also allegedly denied fathering the children and asked the mother to take them with her after their separation.

The children’s mother identified as Betty Nagadya who lives in Semuto town council fainted upon receiving news about the murder of her daughters.

Ssemwogerere says the Police picked the deceased’s bodies and transferred them to Nakaseke hospital for postmortem adding that they have already arrested Mutuba for murder.
