Lokopo GISO shot dead by suspected cattle rustlers

Police in Napak is hunting for suspected cattle rustlers who shot and killed Lopuli John Bosco, 28yrs the GISO for Lokopo Sub-county and resident of Nakicheleet village, Akalale Parish, in Napak District.

The incident occurred on 09/6/2022 at around 2000hrs when Lopuli was shot by one of the six assailants armed with an SMG rifle.

The assailants also robbed the deceased of his clothes and money amounting to UGX: 150,000.

AIP Longole Mike the Ag. PRO Mt. Moroto says detectives visited the scene and introduced a K9 dog which led to the arrest of some suspects.

The officers also recovered 02 cartridges and a bottle of waragi. However, police are yet to establish the motive of the murder.

The deceased’s body has been taken to Matany Hospital for Postmortem, and inquiries have commenced.

Longole called for the Community to remain calm as the police completed inquiries.
