22 year old woman speared to death in Rukungiri

Police in Rukungiri is investigating circumstances under which a 22 yrs old woman was speared dear.

Elly Maate the Kigezi Regional Police spokesperson identified the deceased as Namara Rachael a 22 year old resident of Rushaya village Bwambara s/c Rukungiri district.

It is alleged that on the 03/01/2021 at around 1900hrs while she was at her home with her two young children doing domestic work, a one Abel commonly known as boy son of Charles, emerged out of nowhere with a spear and wounded her around the stomach.

The deceased ran to the neighbor one Kyarimpa Prossy while making an alarm with intestines out and received first aid by tying the stomach with a piece of kitengye cloth.

Kyarimpa thereafter notified the deceased’s husband identified as Tugumisirize Denis who organized a vehicle and rushed her to Nyakibale hospital for treatment where she succumbed on the 04/1/2021.

The deceased’s husband made a report at Rukungiri police station and scene was visited by a team of homicide led by OC CID and uniformed personnel.

Postmortem was also done and inquiries at hand while the suspect remains on the run.
