Young man stabs father’s leg for pressurizing him into going back to school

Panic and horror have gripped Kabuga village, Muhorro sub county in Kagadi district after an 18-year-old man allegedly attacked his father and cut his leg for asking him to go back to school.
The suspect has been identified as Kohen Andrew a son to Andrew Musinguzi both residents of Kabuga village in Kagadi district.
Simon Peter Aimai, the officer in charge of operations at Kagadi central police station narrates that Andrew, a former S.4 student at Kagadi secondary school accused his father for pressurizing him to prepare to go back to school to join A-Level.

Andrew obtained 41 aggregate in O-Level at Kagadi Secondary School in 2019 before he fled to Kampala after refusing to join A’ level but recently he returned home.

However, his father requested the suspect to prepare to go back to school a decision he strongly opposed but instead reportedly asked his father to give him his share of the family land and threatened to end his father’s life should he fail to give him the share of the land.

When the father insisted on the decision of taking him back to school, the suspect became violent, picked a panga and hacked him severely on the leg before taking off to unknown destination. Police have since launched a hunt for Andrew and investigations are underway.

On Monday, schools across the country re-opened for semi-candidates (P.6, S.3 & S.5) joining candidates who have been in school since late last year. It was expected of some children to drop out of school, following one year at home.
