Woman gang-raped while jogging in Namugongo

The Police in Kira Division and Namugongo are hunting for three men armed with pangas who attacked and gang-raped a 22-year-old woman before stealing her phone.

The incident occurred on Sunday 27/11/2022 at around 4:30 am while the victim was jogging from her home in Namugongo-Buloli heading towards Naalya.

According to SCP Enanga Fred the Police Spokesperson, the victim was attacked when she reached the junction going to Kimbejja, opposite Vienna College.

“She met 3 men, armed with pangas who stopped, grabbed and dragged her into the nearby bush, where they gang raped her. The victim was rushed to a nearby clinic for post-rape treatment and therapy. A serious manhunt for the suspects, based on her description, has commenced,” says Enanga.

He added that there are many people that enjoy outdoor exercising but that it’s important to be safe and cautious, during all hours while jogging.
