Three drown in Naludugavu River- Kyotera District

Police have recovered one body while two others are still missing after three people drowned in Naludugavu River, Kamuganja LC, Mayanja Parish, Kakuto S/County in Kyotera District.

The deceased have been identified as Ssebuufu Augustine, 24 years, a builder and resident of Kijonjo A, Mawanda Edward, 14 years also a builder and resident of Nakatooke B, and Ssebuuma John, 19 years, a builder and resident of Kijonjo B.

According to Muhammad Nsubuga the Masaka Regional police spokesperson, three other people survived and they have been identified as Serubiri Antonio a resident of Nakatooke B, Kibuule Denis a resident of Nakatooke A, and Kasuja Davis a resident of Nakatoogo B.

It is alleged that on the 26th/02/2022 at about 0800hrs, the 6 victims went fishing in Naludugavu River on a small boat that capsized due to overloading.

Ssebuuma John’s body was recovered by the community members from the waters at about 1600hrs this afternoon.

Nsubuga says the search for other bodies continues.
