A 29-year-old South Sudan refugee in Lamwo District is in trouble for allegedly killing his five-year-old daughter.
It is alleged that the suspect identified as Alfonse Oroma, kicked the child on the chest on Sunday afternoon, shortly after having a fight with his wife.
The incident happened at zone 6, block five in Palabek refugee settlement in Palabek Sub-county, Lamwo District.
According to David Ongom Mudong the Aswa River Region Police spokesperson, preliminary investigation indicate that the suspect on the fateful day while drunk, began by assaulting his wife, identified as Doreen Abalo 26.
The fight started from the garden, over unclear reasons after ordering her to stop digging.
The suspect would later return to his home where he proceeded to destroy household properties and later kicked his daughter in the chest killing her instantly.
Mudong says the suspect is currently in police custody pending interrogation to ascertain the motives of his action.
The child’s body was transported to Padibe Health Center IV for Postmortem and later handed over to the relatives for burial.
A case of murder is now being investigated at Lamwo Central Police station registered under CRB: 210/2021.
