Police hunt for Highway robbers in Kakiri as Mukono man is found rotting in his house

The police in Kakiri are hunting for unidentified thugs who attacked and robbed a lorry that was carrying some merchandize along Hoima road.

Luke Owoyesigyire the Kampala Metropolitan deputy spokesperson says the incident happened at around 1:00am this morning.

He noted that the assailants were armed and forced occupants of the lorry to disembark, before robbing them.

Owoyesigyire says they are using CCTV cameras to identify the robbers as investigations into the matter continue.

Meanwhile,

The police in Mkono are investigating a sudden death of one Kajubi Alex who was found dead in his house.

According to Owoyesigyire, the deceased is believed to have passed many days ago because the body was found rotting, but his neighbors did not know, until they were hit by the foul smell.

The body has been conveyed to Kawolo hospital mortuary for postmortem and investigations have commenced.
