One Killed in Rubanda as another body is found floating on River Nile

Police in Rubanda are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a 42-year-old man identified as Arineitwe Seseras a casual labourer in Kaziniro cell, Muyanja ward, Bubare sub-county in Rubanda district.

According to ASP Maate Elly the PRO Kigezi, it is alleged that on 15/10/2022, at around 2200hrs, Boda Boda riders found the deceased lying unconscious along the Bugongi-Kaziniro road.

Arineitwe had been badly beaten and was unable to speak.

The villagers organized themselves and carried him to Kabale referral hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on 17/10/2022 at around 1600hrs.

Police officers led by D/Asp Aine Bernice D/CID/O Rubanda and the team visited and documented the scene. Maate says no suspect has been arrested yet.

In another incident,

The Police in Kayunga district is investigating circumstances under which a dead body was found floating on the waters of the River Nile along Nababirye landing site just 2kms off Isimba Hydroelectric Power Plant.

The body was discovered on Monday 17/10/2022 at around 1500/c in Nababirye village in Kayunga district.  

Hellen Butoto the police spokesperson Ssezibwa region says they visited the scene and the body of the unknown male adult was removed from the waters by Police divers and taken to Kayunga Regional Referral Hospital for postmortem.

Investigations are underway to establish the cause of his death.
