Officer attached to Aviation Police commits suicide by shooting

Police are investigating circumstances under which Police Constable Nyeko Bosco Mwaka attached to Aviation Police allegedly committed suicide.

Luke Owoyesigyire the Deputy PRO KMP says the incident is believed to have happened in the night at an unknown time within the police barracks. 

According to Owoyesigyire, the body was discovered in the morning with a bullet wound that went through the chin to the head.

It has been conveyed to the city mortuary at Mulago for a post-mortem.

One bullet cartridge and a note addressed to the deceased’s mother have been recovered and submitted for analysis to our Forensics Directorate.
