MP Okabe killed in accident

The police at Budaka are hunting for a driver of an Isuzu box body registration number KCX 071K who caused an accident that claimed Serere MP’s and his wife’s lives.

Hon Okabe Patrick the Member of Parliament Serere constituency died on the spot while his wife Christine Okabe died on the way to Hospital. Their driver, only identified as Jacob is in the hospital fighting for his life.

The accident happened this morning 19th December 2022 at around 7 am, at Nabowa town council, along the Mbale Tirinyi Road.

The MP was travelling in his vehicle reg no UBK 995F, a Toyota land Cruiser, when the driver of the Isuzu box body who was speeding, drifted from his lane to the side of the Landcruiser that was coming from Mbale heading to Iganga causing a head-on collision.

According to Faridah Nampiima the PRO Traffic and Road Safety, the driver of the Fuso box body is on the run.
