Mbarara Police recover abandoned Pistol with 13 rounds

The Police at CPS Mbarara have on Monday morning recovered an abandoned gun, a PISTOL Number UG IND B025407-03587 with 13 rounds of ammunition along the Mbarara Kabale road next to the Mbarara University of Science and Technology main gate.

The gun which was dumped just after the flyover belongs to Mr Ssemugenyi Julius.

According to Kasasira Samson the PRO Rwizi, Ssemugenyi a 36-year-old businessman resident of Karora cell Rugando sub-county Rwampara district claims that he was waylaid by unknown assailants as he was travelling back home at 0400hrs in a motor vehicle UBB 077Z Toyota double cabin who assaulted and robbed him of his pistol.

Inquiries into the matter have been opened and the pistol exhibited at CPS Mbarara until investigations are concluded.
