Health Ministry receives PPE Donation from UNFPA

The Permanent Secretary Dr. Diana Atwine has Friday received a donation of Personal Protective Equipment worth UGX 2.4Bn from United Nations Population Fund to support the ongoing COVID-19 Response activities in over 42 districts.

The items comprise of surgical masks, respirators, examination and surgical gloves, heavy duty aprons and gloves, googles, liquid soap and hand sanitizers.

Uganda’s COVID-19 cases have declined in the last few days, despite the just concluded electoral process that saw many people ignore the SOPs and gather in large numbers during campaigns and on polling days.

As per the results of COVID-19 tests done on 27 January 2021, 110 new cases were confirmed, bringing the number of cumulative confirmed cases are 39,424.

Breakdown of the 110 cases; Kampala (48) Soroti (8) Wakiso (10) Butaleja (5) Iganga (5) Tororo (3) Mitooma (2) Nebbi (2) Moroto (2) Kisoro (2) Kasese (2) Ngora (2) Lwengo (2) Jinja (1) Kamwenge (1) Kabale (1) Masaka (1) Bukwo (1) Mbale (2) Sheema(1) Mbarara (1) Katakwi (1) Amuru (1) Kyenjojo (1) Koboko (1) Arua (1) Isingiro (2) Bundibugyo (1).
