EC sets November 29th & 30th as nomination dates for Local Government Council by-elections

The Electoral Commission has appointed 29th & 30th Nov 2021, as the dates for the nomination of candidates for Local Government Councils by-elections 2021.

The nomination exercise shall take place at the respective District/City headquarters from 9 am to 5 pm on each of the appointed dates ahead of the Local Government Councils By-election for Busesa Town Council, Bugweri district.

The Commission is as well accompanied by the Heads of Department at the Electoral Commission headquarters and other staff.

“The EC Chairperson, Justice Byabakama Mugenyi Simon, the Deputy Chairperson Hajjat Aisha Lubega, and the Commissioners; Hajji Mustapha Sebaggala Kigozi, Nathaline Etomaru, Peter Emorut, and Mugabi Justine are in Begweri District for a stakeholders’ consultative meeting” the EC Chairperson, Justice Byabakama Mugenyi Simon said.

While addressing the meeting on Monday, Justice Byabakama cautioned the stakeholders in Busesa Town Council, Bugweri District against the continued internal conflicts that frustrate the electoral processes for Local Government leadership.
