49-year-old man wanted for defiling P.7 Pupil

The police in Kabale are holding a 49-year-old man identified as Nkuruziza Etienne alias Kazungu a resident of Kigongi “B” cell Central ward/ division Kabale municipality/ district, for allegedly defiling and impregnating a 14 years old girl.

ASP Maate Elly the PRO Kigezi says that the suspect who is a neighbour to the girl’s residence, allegedly defiled her between the months of August and September 2022 in the evening hours when she had gone to watch a movie from his place of residence.

However, she was subjected to a medical examination when she returned to Bugongi preparatory primary school in Sheema for P7 as is the school tradition.

It was later discovered that she was pregnant and the school announced this to her parents.

They picked up their daughter and took her back home to Kabale where the case was reported.

Maate says that inquiries are ongoing, and upon completion, the suspect will be arraigned before courts of law.
