Two dead, three in critical condition following accident by drunken police officer at Nsambya

Two people are dead and three others are fighting for their lives following an accident that happened on Thursday morning at Nsambya sharing junction.

Luke Owoyesigyire the Deputy police spokesperson Kampala Metropolitan area says a police truck, Reg. No. UP 5638 rammed into motor vehicles UAX 851J, UBD 944J, UAS 427X and knocked three motorcycles.

Two people died at the scene while three others were rushed to the hospital with serious injuries and are in critical condition.

According to Owoyesigyire, they are currently investigating the cause of accident but that Corporal Acaca who was driving the police car was under the influence of alcohol.

The deceased have only been identified as Bakurumpagi and Abdulhakim Badiru. Their bodies were conveyed to Mulago City mortuary for postmortem.
