Three dead following Mabira Monday morning crash

Police in Mabira is investigating the cause of an accident that left three people dead. The incident happened at about 05:00/c on 03/10/2020 at Kinoni- Mabira along Kampala- Jinja highway in the district of Buikwe.

According to Hellen Butoto the PRO Ssezibwa Region, the accident involved a motor vehicle Reg No UBC 284A Toyota wish and a motorcycle Reg No UEJ 472J TVs.

It is alleged that the Toyota Wish which was being driven by Albert Charles Okello Oduman (56 years) from Jinja collided with the motorcycle rider who was coming from Lugazi side.

The rider and his two passengers died on spot.

Butoto identified the deceased as No. 70530 PC Bwambale Wasley 25yrs, a Police officer attached to FFU Mabira, Nsobya Derrick a 24-year-old Boda Boda ridder and another one only identified as Gazira a 16-year-old girl.

The bodies have been taken to Kawolo hospital mortuary pending postmortem, while the driver was arrested

The car and the motorcycle have been towed to Mabira police station yard pending IOV inspection.
