Police warn general public against flouting curfew guidelines, operations set to begin today

The police have warned the public against what they termed as alarming abuse of curfew time for both motorists and pedestrians.

ASP Luke Owoyesigyire the PRO Kampala Metropolitan says Ugandans should remember that as per the recent presidential directives on COVID-19, the curfew time was set and it must be followed.

“Businesses were reopened and people should be at their homes by 7pm in the evening.  Boda bodas were also informed to stop operating at 6pm” Owoyesigyire said.

He further informed the general public that Kampala Metropolitan Police will starting today, heighten operations against those flaunting curfew.

Whosever will be found violating curfew guidelines, will be arrested, cars impounded and taken to courts of law for prosecution.  He further advised members of the public to plan their schedule to avoid any inconvenience from the Police.

The President while re-opening the country, warned that all Ugandans should be in their homes at 7PM every evening until 5:30am.
