Police in Kiira region have launched a manhunt for an unknown assailant who cut off a seven-year-old child’s head and disappeared with it in a sugarcane plantation.
Abdullah Weyeye, a resident of Kagoma gate village in Kakira town council in Jinja district was out grazing cattle with his friends on Wednesday evening when the incident happened.
Abbey Ngako the Kiira region police spokesperson says police received a report that Weyeye was grazing cattle with five other children when a stranger showed up with a machete and chopped off his head before vanishing in the sugarcane plantation.
One of the children who was with Weyeye told police that the assailant attacked the deceased because he was grazing ahead of them.
the child’s father Lazalo Wabumba mobilized resident upon receiving the news and they searched for the monster but could not find him.
Police are tracking the suspect.
