Police Investigate Building Collapses in Buziga, Claims One Life

Kampala, Uganda – Police in Kampala are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collapse of a building in Buziga Parish, Makindye Division, which left one person dead and another injured.

According to CP Rusoke Kituuma, the Public Relations Officer of the Uganda Police Force, the incident occurred on the evening of Sunday, June 15, 2025.

Addressing a weekly press conference at Naguru Police Headquarters on Monday morning, Kituuma stated that although initial reports indicated that several people may have been trapped under the debris, only one person was rescued alive.

“One body was recovered from the rubble, while the survivor was transported to Mulago Hospital for treatment. The deceased was taken to the city mortuary,” he said.

Kituuma noted that rescue operations are still ongoing as efforts continue to ensure no one else remains trapped.
