Museveni summons brother Sodo, Kutesa’s daughter for mediation

Following violence and rivalry in Ssembabule district National Resistance Movement party, the party chairman president Yoweri Museveni has summoned district leaders for a meeting.

According to a letter dated today 7th September 2020, the meeting will take place on Thursday 10th September 2020 and will be attended by the Ssembabule District Chairperson, the NRM district Chairman, all Members of Parliament in Ssembabule, all aspirants for the Member of Parliament Ssembabule, all Sub county Chairpersons in Ssembabule and all NRM Sub county chairpersons.

All those invited have been directed to report at Mulago National Refferal Hospital for COVID-19 testing tomorrow Tuesday. Rivalry is between Museveni’s brother Sodo Kaguta and Shartis Musherure a daughter to Minister Sam Kutesa.

To date, they have not held NRM Parliamentary primaries that took place on Friday 4th September in other parts of the country. The violence in Ssembabule forced Dr Odoi Tanga the NRM EC chairperson to cancel elections until further notice.
