Man killed, body dumped by the roadside – Bukomansimbi
Police in Bukomansimbi is investigating the murder of an old man whose body was found by the roadside, wrapped in a polythene bag and tied with ropes.
The body was discovered by one Mudirika Abdu who was going to school at about midday.
According to Muhammad Nsubuga the PRO Masaka region, the body was in a polythene bag, tied ropes, and dumped by the roadside about one kilometer from Misanvu trading centre.
Mudirika notified residents who then reported to Misanvu police station.
After doing a thorough check, the police established that the body was that of a male adult in his early 70s.
Nsubuga says they suspect that the victim was killed elsewhere and the body dumped in this particular area. The unidentified body was still fresh, with a slight injury at the back of the head with fresh blood oozing through and a straight scratch on his back. The neck was loose with signs of strangulation.
“The body was dressed in white Khaki trousers, an orange belt, white purple striped shirt. Tyre marks of the vehicle suspected to have dumped the body were also visible at the scene,” says Nsubuga.
The body had no identification documents.
It was thoroughly examined by the scene of crime officers and conveyed to the mortuary, as inquiries into the matter continue.
