Kanungu Man kills Girlfriend for allegedly attempting to marry another man

Residents of Kanyambeho cell, Kanyambeho parish in Nyakinoni sub-county in Kanungu district are in shock after a 40yr man identified as Ampereza Nicholas chopped his girlfriend to death after finding out that she was planning to marry another man.

Elly Maate the Kigezi region police spokesperson identifies the deceased as Namara peace a 27yr old bar attendant and resident of the same area.

The case was reported to Nyakinoni police post under SD REF 07 /03/01/2022 by Turyatunga Baker the chairman Lc 1 Kanyambeho cell.

According to Turyatunga, the incident happened yesterday 3rd/01/2022 at around 1700hrs when the coupled developed domestic misunderstandings.

Ampereza has been cohabiting with his girlfriend Namara for some time but on Monday, he learned that she had found another man who she was planning to marry yesterday.

The suspect was enraged, picked a panga, and cut the girlfriend’s head that it almost fell off and she died instantly.

Maate says the scene of the crime was visited by OC station Kihihi ASP Kashumba John Bosco and a team of detectives.

The deceased’s body was then conveyed to kihihi health center 1v pending postmortem while the suspect was arrested and is currently detained at kihihi police station

Detectives also recovered the killer machete and it has been exhibited.
