Fire Destroys Properties at Nakawa Union Vision Secondary School

Officers at Jinja Road police station are investigating a fire outbreak that occurred today, June 10, 2025, at around 1:00 am at Butabika Hospital village, Butabika parish, Nakawa division in Kampala district.

According to SP Patrick Onyango, the PRO for Kampala Metropolitan Police, the incident happened at Nakawa Union Vision Secondary School, damaging part of the dormitory block for boys.

The fire is believed to have been caused by a short circuit due to electricity.

Onyango says that the Police were notified and responded immediately with the fire brigade team from Butabika police station.

“Additional reinforcements were dispatched from the fire brigade headquarters to help extinguish the fire.”

He adds that the amount of property destroyed has not yet been established, and no lives were lost in the incident.
