Boda Boda rider kills wife, commits suicide

Katwe and Kajjansi territorial police are conducting investigations into two tragic incidents, involving murder and suicide. One of the incidents took place in Ndikutamadda LC1, Masajja Division, Makindye-Ssabagabo municipality, Wakiso District.

According to reports, on May 27, 2023, at around 6:00 AM, the lifeless body of Ssemwanga Experito, a 25-year-old boda boda rider residing in Ndikutamadda LC1, was discovered hanging from a rope inside a house under construction.

Ssemwanga originally hailed from Rwabitakuli village in Sembabule District.

Preliminary investigations indicate that prior to his suicide, Ssemwanga was allegedly involved in a tragic murder incident at approximately 4:00 AM. He is suspected of fatally stabbing his ex-wife, Mbabazi Grace, at her rented residence in Kajjansi, located along the Kampala-Entebbe Highway.

Meanwhile, ASP Luke Owoyesigyire the Deputy PRO KMP says that the police in Kajjansi are investigating this separate incident, and further information will be shared as the investigation progresses.

The Kikajjo Police Station responded promptly to the crime scene and conducted an initial examination. Several witnesses have provided statements to assist with the ongoing investigation.

The bodies of Ssemwanga and Mbabazi Grace have been transported to the City Mortuary, where a post-mortem examination will be carried out to determine the cause of death.
