Blogger charged with offensive communication against AIGP Asan Kasingye
A 26-year-old man identified as Kusasira Daniel, a resident of Namukozi in Mityana district is in trouble for defaming AIGP Asan Kasingye the Uganda Police Force Political Commissar.
According to the charge sheet, Kusasira while in Mityana on January 25th 2021, willfully and repeatedly used electronic communication to post information offensive in nature via facebook page “Daniel! The Blogger”.
His post “How poison was transferred” with photographs of AIGP Asan Kasingye with the Late Bishop John Baptist Kaggwa which were transmitted over the internet to disturb the peace, quiet or right to privacy of AIGP Asan Kasingye with no purpose of legitimate communication contrary to Sections 179 & 180 of the Penal code Act.
