Heads of centers reminded to verify candidate data by July 31st deadline
The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has issued a final reminder to Heads of Centers, Parents, and Candidates that the last phase of late registration for the 2023 candidates is set to conclude on Monday, July 31st, 2023.
According to Jennifer Kalule-Musamba, Principal Public Relations Officer (PRO) at UNEB, learners intending to appear for the 2023 Primary Leaving Examination (PLE), Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE), and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) Examinations must complete their registrations before the midnight hour of July 31.
After this date, she warns that no further registrations will be accepted, and candidates will miss the opportunity to participate in this year’s examinations.
“Thereafter, there will be no opportunity to register 2023 candidates. Let’s ensure that no learner is left out. Registration during this phase attracts a surcharge of 100% of the original set fees of 34,000/= for PLE, 164,000= for UCE, and 186,000= for UACE. So anyone registering now will have to pay twice the amount,” says Kalule.
In a statement released on Thursday morning, she urged all stakeholders to ensure that no learner is left out due to missed registration. She emphasized that this final phase provides a last chance for candidates to register and advised them to complete the process promptly.
Heads of Centers have also been reminded to assist candidates in cross-checking the accuracy of the data uploaded on the registration portal. Any necessary amendments must be made before the deadline, July 31st, to avoid additional charges.
“Amendments made by July 31st will be free of charge. Candidates should look out for correctness of names, Date of Birth, Gender, schools of choice, subjects registered for, and resolution of the picture,” Kalule added.
