UNEB instructs schools to display registered candidates for verification

The Uganda National Examinations Board, UNEB has instructed that starting today, Monday, August 14th, all schools and examination centers designated for the 2023 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE), Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE), and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) must display candidates’ registers.

The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has also introduced a Short Message Service (SMS) option accessible through mobile phones, allowing candidates to verify their registration status.

To confirm registration status, candidates are required to follow these steps: Type “REG” followed by a space, Enter the full index number of the candidate and Send the message to 6600.

Jennifer Kalule-Musamba the Principal Public Relations Officer of Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) says that in cases where discrepancies are identified within the candidates’ biographical data, candidates are advised to promptly notify school authorities.

Furthermore, schools should communicate any discrepancies to UNEB using the prescribed procedures accessible through the UNEB portal.

“Should an unfortunate situation arise where a candidate possesses evidence of timely payment of registration fees but was not successfully registered, UNEB should be informed immediately,” said Kalule.

She also noted that concerned individuals are encouraged to visit UNEB Offices in Ntinda or contact the Board through the following channels: Toll-Free Line: 0800-211-077 and Customer Care Numbers: 0760-731-261, 0776-865-556, 0777-993-335.

She further advised parents and candidates to take advantage of this period to confirm the accuracy of their registration status and biographical details.
