22-Year-Old Woman Dies After Suspected Self-Stabbing in Entebbe

Police in Entebbe are investigating a suspected suicide by stabbing that occurred in Kitoro, Entebbe Municipality, Wakiso District.

According to SP Rachael Kawala, the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, the deceased has been identified as Nakigudde Carol, a 22-year-old housewife and resident of Kitoro Zone, Entebbe Municipality.

It is alleged that on May 16, 2026, at around 11:00 p.m., Nakigudde picked a quarrel with her husband, Husama Mukiibi, demanding that he return UGX 450,000 belonging to her local savings group.

Police say the money had allegedly been delivered through the husband but was not handed over to the deceased.

During the altercation, Nakigudde reportedly picked up a knife and allegedly stabbed herself in the neck despite efforts by her husband to stop her.

She was rushed to Entebbe Regional Referral Hospital for medical attention but later succumbed to her injuries at around 1:00 a.m. on May 17, 2026.

Police say investigations into the incident are ongoing.

Authorities have urged victims of domestic violence and family-related conflicts to seek support through the Child and Family Protection Unit.
