Woman arrested for allegedly Strangling husband to death

The police in Rukungiri has arrested three people, including a woman over the strangulation of her husband to death.

Elly Maate the police spokesperson Kigezi region identified the deceased as Kuribakanya Reuben a 25year old resident of Nyakazinga cell, Bwanga parish, Nyarushanje s/county in Rukungiri District.

The murder was reported to police by Bitambeki Aggey the area lc1 chairperson.

It is alleged that on 22/10/2020 at about 0100hrs, the deceased returned home from unknown place and met the wife one Ampereza Caroline at home, he bathed and slept as normal.

However at about 0300hrs, the wife allegedly checked and found he had left the bed. She then picked a torch and found him hanging on a piece of cloth.

She then notified neighbors Namanya Brian and Justina who in turn reported the matter to Kiyenje police.

The scene of crime was visited by police, postmortem done which shows that was strangled.

Police has since arrested three people including the wife Ampereza Caroline, Anohire Benson and Mushabe Patrick for questioning.
