Unknown persons drop leaflets with threatening messages targeting individuals in Masaka

The police in Masaka District are hunting for unknown people who have been dropping life-threatening leaflets in Kajjajirwa cell, Kimanya ward, Kyabakuza division.

Nsubuga says they have observed that the authors are highly educated and write proper Luganda based on the phrasing of their sentences.

“The author (s) is within Kajjajirwa or Kigamba as most of the targeted individuals are residents of or work in the same area and institutions of learning mentioned,” says Nsubuga.

He adds that they have intensified intelligence and vigilance in order to apprehend the culprits and also scheduled meetings with the community and are scaling up the patrols (foot and motorized) and vigilance including the village security committees for neighbourhood watch.

Police have also deployed officers at institutions of higher learning to beef up their security, especially at Equator university.
