Uganda’s Model Sunday Stephen Wins the Mr. Africa International 2024
In a moment of immense pride for Uganda and Africa as a whole, Sunday Stephen has been crowned Mr. Africa International 2024 at the prestigious grand finals held on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at Mamba Point, Lagonda, Freetown, Sierra Leone. Representing Uganda for the fourth consecutive time, Sunday’s journey to the top is a testament to his resilience, dedication, and passion for fitness and modeling.
This year’s competition featured contestants from 30 countries, with only 10 finalists making it to the ultimate showdown. Sunday Stephen, known for his remarkable physique, charismatic stage presence, and intellectual depth, emerged victorious, adding a new chapter to his already illustrious modeling career.
Sunday’s path to victory has been nothing short of inspirational. Over the years, he has consistently placed among the top five contestants and earned accolades like the “Body of Africa” award in 2023. This year, his relentless efforts, self-funded preparations, and unshakable determination culminated in his crowning moment.
Speaking after his win, Sunday shared his emotions:
“This is a dream come true. I’ve worked so hard for this moment. Representing Uganda and Africa has always been my passion, and today, I feel like I’ve made my country proud. This victory is not just for me; it’s for every African who dares to dream big.”
Sunday’s preparation for this year’s competition was rigorous and self-driven. Without a coach, manager, or sponsors, he trained tirelessly to excel in all aspects of the competition—physical fitness, confidence, intellect, and the ability to address challenging questions from judges.
“It wasn’t easy. This journey has tested my physical and mental strength, but my love for Uganda and Africa kept me going,” Sunday remarked. His win is a shining example of how passion and determination can overcome all odds.
Winning Mr. Africa International 2024 is not just a personal achievement for Sunday but also a platform to promote Africa’s rich culture, heritage, and beauty to the world. The title comes with cash prizes and contracts with renowned modeling agencies, including House of Twitch, which operates in London and Nigeria.
“This platform is bigger than me. It’s about showcasing the best of Africa to the world and inspiring young Africans to dream big, break barriers, and unite across borders,” he said. Sunday also expressed his desire to empower more Ugandans and Africans to embrace healthier lifestyles and pursue their dreams with vigor.
Sunday’s victory is a proud moment for Uganda, a country he fondly refers to as the “Pearl of Africa.” Carrying the Ugandan flag on the international stage, he has cemented his place as a remarkable ambassador for his nation.
“Uganda is my home, and Africa is my pride. This win is for every Ugandan and African who believes in the power of dreams. Together, we can achieve greatness,” Sunday shared with heartfelt pride.
