“My Daughter Writes My Music” Says Ragga Dee
As legendary Ugandan musician Ragga Dee prepares to celebrate 37 years in the music industry, his teenage daughter, Shivon Dee, is stepping into the spotlight as one of the event’s most anticipated performers. The young artist, who is both a singer and rapper, sees the concert as an opportunity to solidify her presence in the music scene.
Introducing Herself to the World
During a press conference to announce the anniversary concert, Shivon Dee made her public debut, sharing insights into her journey and aspirations. Having recently completed high school, she’s now preparing to embark on her university education while pursuing her musical dreams.
“Music has always been a personal passion of mine,” she shared. “Though my father has been a great mentor, I’m focused on carving my own path in this industry.”
More Than Just Ragga Dee’s Daughter
Shivon Dee is determined to establish her identity beyond her father’s legacy. “I don’t define myself solely as the daughter of a legend. That’s not what shapes who I am,” she explained. “I’ve strived to lead a normal life, which has helped me maintain a balanced approach through school and my music.”
A Budding Talent with Her Own Voice
Shivon’s musical journey began at the age of 14. While Ragga Dee has provided guidance, Shivon emphasizes that her artistry is uniquely her own. Notably, she has contributed to her father’s recent projects by writing some of his newer songs. “For his older music, I was too young to contribute, but now I’m actively involved in his latest work,” she said.
A Star on the Rise
Shivon Dee’s first public appearance came late last year at the UNMF Jam Session, where Ragga Dee introduced her to an enthusiastic audience. With her growing confidence and talent, Shivon Dee is poised to captivate audiences at her father’s anniversary concert and beyond.
