Uganda Police Football team undergoes COVID-19 testing
Uganda Police Football Club has Wednesday subjected its players and technical team to Covid 19 ahead of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
FUFA, Uganda’s Football governing body issued strict guidelines to be followed by all teams planning to take part in the league slated to begin on December 3rd 2020.
According to Head Coach Abdallah Mubiru, they carried COVID-19 out the test to establish the safety of the players and the technical staff. He also revealed that the club foots all the expenses of the team in an effort to prepare itself for the coming season 2020/21.
He added that Covid 19 is real and urged all the staff to take personal initiative to keep safe to avoid disappointments after putting in a lot of effort in preparation for the new season.
“Covid 19 is real. All our players need to protect themselves, not only acquiring the disease, but also spreading it to colleagues. The only way for them to play a good game and meet their goal is by making sure they are negative from any symptoms of this pandemic. There is need for the players to stay safe. It’s embarrassing to come to a match day when a section is positive after training so hard. We are not taking anything for granted,” Mubiru told the team.
The Cops start campaign on December 4th against Wakiso Giants at Lugogo.
