Tragic Death: 15-Year-Old Girl Jumps from Moving Vehicle in Moroto

Police in the Mt. Moroto Region are investigating the circumstances under which a 15-year-old girl jumped off a moving pickup truck, dying instantly.

The incident occurred on February 13, 2025, at approximately 15:10 hours along the Moroto-Soroti road in Naitakwai, Moroto District.

According to IP Longole Mike, Ag. PRO Mt. Moroto/ASTU, the girl, identified as Lomongin Angelina, jumped out of a vehicle, registration number UAS 679X, which was travelling from Moroto Town to Nadunget. She fell to the ground, hit her head, and succumbed to her injuries.

The driver, identified as Kipanda Yassin, a 37-year-old mechanic and resident of Tapac Sub County, has been arrested to assist police with further investigations.

Police hare investigating the incident to establish the circumstances surrounding the accident.

Longole urged all drivers to exercise caution and prioritize the safety of their passengers.

The body of the deceased was taken to Moroto Referral Hospital mortuary, pending a post-mortem examination.
