Teacher Arrested for Allegedly Defiling 15 year old Pupil in Kamuli

The Police in Kamuli have in custody a 39-year-old teacher for allegedly defiling a 15-year-old P.7 pupil.

The suspect, Stephen Kimpi, is a teacher at Nawansaso Primary School in Kitayunjwa Subcounty, Kamuli District, and resides in the staff quarters of the school.

According to ASP Kasadha Micheal, the Regional Spokesperson for Busoga North, initial findings indicate that Kimpi married the victim’s aunt six months ago, and they have been living together with the victim at the staff quarters of his workplace.

However, on 29th May 2024, while his wife was away, Kimpi allegedly took advantage of the situation and defiled the girl, then threatened to kill her if she disclosed it to anyone.

On 6th September 2024, when the victim was heading home after a gospel crusade at Nawansaso Primary School, the perpetrator allegedly attempted to defile her again, but she was saved by a passing stranger.

After this incident, the girl informed her mother and aunt about the sexual abuse she had suffered at the hands of the teacher. This prompted them to report the matter to the police, where a case file of Aggravated Defilement was opened.

Kimpi was apprehended and is in custody at Kamuli CPS. Both the suspect and the victim have been examined pending further investigations. Kasadha says that upon completion of inquiries, the suspect will be arraigned to answer the appropriate charges.
