Ssebagala Moses Arrested for Defiling an 8-year-old Child

Police in Wakiso District have arrested a boda boda rider identified as Ssebagala Moses following the circulation of a disturbing video on social media, allegedly involving the defilement of an eight-year-old girl.

The incident is reported to have occurred on April 16, 2026, in Mabombwe Village, Mabombwe Parish, Mende Sub-county.

According to Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, SP Racheal Kawala, the victim was outside with her sister when the suspect approached them. He reportedly gave the children a phone to watch cartoons before taking advantage of the situation and allegedly abusing the minor.

Kawala condemned the incident, describing it as a serious violation of children’s rights.

“We strongly condemn all forms of child abuse. We urge parents and guardians to remain vigilant and closely supervise their children at all times,” she said.

The suspect is currently in police custody and is expected to be arraigned in court as investigations continue.
