Shock as 5 year old girl is murdered in cold blood

The Kagadi police are investigating the murder of a 5-year-old girl identified as Tusingwire, the daughter of Byamukama Emmanuel, a resident of Kamurandu village in Kihuura parish, Nyabutanzi subcounty, Kagadi district.

The incident occurred on February 20, 2024, around 8:00 PM in the aforementioned area and was reported to Mabaale Police Post in Kagadi district on February 21, 2024, at 7:30 AM local time.

According to ASP Hakiza Allan, the PRO Albertine Region, it is alleged that on February 20, 2024, around 7:10 PM local time, the deceased’s mother, Ayebaale Margret, left home to purchase tomatoes at a nearby shop, leaving the deceased at home while her siblings went to fetch water.

Upon returning home 20 minutes later, she discovered the deceased missing and assumed she had gone to sleep inside the house. Around 8:00 PM local time, the mother sent her other daughter to retrieve her sister from the house for supper.

Tragically, she found her sister dead, lying on the bed. The mother suspected the stepsons, who had previously threatened to harm her. Police dogs were brought to the scene, leading to the arrest of the two stepsons, Byamukama Brian (aged 19) and Ajuna Pascal (aged 17).

Hakiza further stated that preliminary investigations suggest that the suspects had previously threatened to harm the deceased. Investigations are ongoing to determine the motives behind the assailants’ actions.
