Police Investigate Murder of City Lawyer Mukisa Ronnie

The Kampala Metropolitan Police South (KMP South) and Kajjansi Police Division are investigating the circumstances under which a renowned City Lawyer was shot to death.

The incident occurred during the late hours of May 30th, 2023, at Kitiko Birongo in Ndejje Division, Makindye Sebagabo, Wakiso District.

The victim has been identified as Mukisa Ronnie, a 45-year-old lawyer employed at IBC Advocates, located at Namanda Plaza, Kampala. Mr. Mukisa resided in Kitiko Birongo, Ndejje Division, Makindye Sebagabo, Wakiso District.

According to ASP Luke Owoyesigyire Deputy PRO Kampala Metropolitan Police, preliminary information received suggests that Mukisa often returned home late.

However, on the night of the incident, he arrived at the apartment parking lot at approximately 23:00hrs. After parking his dark blue Subaru Legacy registration number UBJ 006K, Mukisa proceeded to close the gate. It was during his return to the apartment that nearby residents heard the sound of gunshots, which prompted them to respond to the commotion.

Eyewitness statements indicate that an unidentified individual was observed shooting at Mukisa before momentarily retreating, only to return and shoot him multiple times at close range in the head. The assailant swiftly fled the scene, making their escape on a waiting motorcycle. The direction in which the motorcycle headed remains unknown.

Officers from Kajansi Police Station responded to the scene and canines were deployed to assist with the investigation. Despite their best efforts, the trail went cold. However, a thorough search of the area yielded the recovery of four projectiles and cartridges.

Mukisa’s body was conveyed to the City Mortuary for postmortem examination.

Detectives from Kajjansi Police Station are conducting inquiries to gather additional information and establish the motive behind this heinous crime.

Owoyesigyire urged anyone with information that can help with investigations to come forward.
