Mother in custody for killing her own 4-year-old son

Police in Bukomasimbi district have in custody a 40-year-old mother for the murder of her 4-year-old child.

The suspect is Vumilia Florence a Tanzanian national and wife to Samula John a resident of Kawoko Kiwenjula village, Kawoko Parish, Butenga sub-county, Bukomasimbi district.

Vumilia allegedly assaulted her own four-year-old son identified as Aneziusi Mulokozi causing his death.

According to Muhamad Nzubuga the PRO Greater Masaka, it is alleged that Vumilia assaulted the boy at about 1100/c on Thursday morning and he collapsed.

She then panicked and rushed him to Butenga H/C IV where he was admitted and later pronounced dead at about 1400/c.

The police arrested the suspect and inquiries have since commenced.

The deceased’s body is yet to be conveyed to Masaka hospital mortuary for autopsy.

Police also discovered that Vumilia remarried in Uganda four years ago and produced 3 children with her current husband.

However, the deceased is a son of her former Tanzanian husband called Alanus with whom they had 3 children also.

The deceased was the youngest among the children she bore with the Tanzanian man and decided to move with him (deceased) when she came to Uganda.

Nsubuga says the child’s body had multiple body injuries suggestive of physical assault.
