Child Kidnapped by Man Promising Bicycle Ride

Police detectives at Kabalagala Police Station are currently searching for a missing 4-year-old boy named Odoi Hannington Daniel, who is the son of Odoi Hannington. The child was reported missing by his father on March 24th, 2023 at around 3 PM. He was last seen in the Okiring zone of Kibuli Parish, Makindye division, Kampala district.

According to ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy PRO KMP, Daniel and his friend Mukisa Sowedi, a 6-year-old, went to James’ shop to buy chapati for Sowedi’s father. However, they allegedly encountered a man dressed in a black T-shirt who promised to give them a ride on his bicycle. The man then took them to a certain area in Okiring zone, where he instructed Sowedi to go back home, leaving Daniel with him. When Sowedi returned to the area with Daniel’s brother, Wilson, both Daniel and the man were nowhere to be seen.

The police have visited the scene, processed it, and viewed CCTV footage of the two juveniles passing by the area. The suspect is still at large, and investigations are ongoing to determine the motive behind the disappearance.

ASP Luke Owoyesigyire has urged the public to come forward with any information that may help with the investigation, and to remain calm and cooperate with the police during this ongoing search. He has also emphasized that the safety and security of Ugandan citizens, especially children, are of utmost importance to the police.
