Kisoro man who butchered own family hands self in to police

Police in Kisoro has in custody 28 year old Ndikumukiza Gerald, a man who butchered his wife, parents and sister in-law on Thursday 24/09/2020 at Kageyo village Busengo parish Nyarubuye Sub County.

Elly Maate the Kigezi Regional police spokesperson says the suspect has been on the run since the incident until Sunday morning at around 06am when he handed himself to police and claiming he feared being lynched.

The deceased are Mujawimana Maserina 26 a wife to the suspect, Sebitama Deogratious 80 the suspect’s father, Nyiraguhirwa Bonconsira 75 the suspect’s mother and Nyiramahoro Joan his sister in-law and wife to his brother George Nsabyareme.

Maate says that during interrogation, Ndikumukiza tagged the heinous crime to land related wrangles between himself and his parents.

The suspect claims that the land he was given is in a steep area where he couldn’t construct a house and that’s why he went out to look for money to buy his own land but things didn’t work out as expected, that’s why he came back and out of anger murdered the family.

The suspect will be produced in court to answer charges accordingly.
