Headteacher, Businessman shot dead by unknown assailants in Agago district
The Police at Patongo CPS in Agago District are investigating a murder by shooting of Olea John Charles 37yrs a Deputy Headteacher at Abilnino Primary School and Mr Okidi Justine Ojara 27yrs, a businessman, and resident of Odokomit Village, Abilnino Parish, Lira Kato Subcounty in Agago District.
Statements from the witnesses indicate that on Wednesday 7/09/2022 at around 1930hrs, a group of 3 Armed persons dressed in Civilian clothes and moving in a white Land cruiser motor vehicle carried out a surprise attack on the victims who were inside a shop, killing them instantly before robbing unspecified sums of money.
ASP Ongom David Mudong the PRO Aswa-River says the detectives led by the District Scene of Crime Officer visited the scene and documented it. They also obtained statements from some witnesses to help in investigations.
Four (4) Cartridges were recovered from the scene and exhibited pending submission to Ballistic experts for analysis.
The bodies of the deceased persons have been taken for postmortem at Kalongo Hospital, more Inquiries are underway.
“We condemn the cowardly acts of killing innocent civilians and urge any member of the public with relevant information that can link to the arrest of these culprits to confidentially convey it to any police station to back up our efforts towards the same course of action,” says Mudong.
